| Sour Cream Softies |
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1. Preheat oven to 400 F
2 Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
3. In a large bowl, cream together butter or margarine and 1 1/2 cups sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add sifted ingredients alternately with sour cream, blending well after each addition.
4. Drop batter by tablespoonsfuls 4 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Bake 12 minutes or until golden. Let cool on wire racks.
Nan adds: On these Sour Cream Cookies I omit sprinkling cinnamonm and sugar and bake without this. Then I frost them using all kinds of food coloring added to the frosting. |
