| Mint Ribbon Brownies |
2 squares bitter chocolate
2 sticks butter or margarine
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
3 c. powdered sugar
6 Tbsp. soft butter
1 - 3 Tbsp. milk or cream
2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. green food coloring
Melt chocolate and oleo. Beat eggs, sugar, flour, and nuts. Mix together. Spread in 10x14 inch buttered pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes on lowest shelf. Cool in refrigerator.
Blend the powdered sugar, butter, milk and extracts. Add green food coloring. Smooth on cooled brownies. Refrigerate again until cold. Melt:
3 squares bitter chocolate
3 Tbsp. butter
Spread quickly on top of green layer. Chill. Score so that chocolate will not crack. Can be frozen Should be kept refrigerated due to milk in icing. Allow to soften before serving. Serves 50. |
